The jellyfish and butterfly were taken at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. Typically, it would be hard to find pictures of these animals that are so up close and personal. For the jellyfish, I pressed my phone against the glass to get a clear photo, and took several photos as the jellyfish moved around freely within the tank.

The bio-dome has a variety of animals that you would typically see in the tropics. The photo of the butterfly above was a “perfect timing” photo, where it was resting in the middle of these huge fraying leaves, giving focus to the orange of the butterfly and blurring the background just to focus on it.
